Zamboanga City- The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(ARMM) has just completed the construction of two high-impact projects in
Panglima Estino, Sulu.
The said project brings the total to PhP323.77 million worth
of infrastructure the ARMM has poured in that town since 2012.
The two mentioned projects included the Sagay-sayay Level II
Water Supply System and a school building at the Panglima Estino National High
School.
On Thursday, ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman led the turnover
and inauguration of the two projects.
He said that the residents of Panglima Estino can now have
safe water supply system and potable water, and will no longer rely on deep
well which could make them exposed to water-borne diseases.
The residents of Barangay Marsada, an outlying village, sourced
out their drinking water from a deep well with brackish water.
Meanwhile, Panglima Estino Mayor Benshar Estino disclosed
their plan to establish a water district as this will further improve delivery
of potable water to the residents.
Estino Mayor also said that the residents will only have to pay
for the transmission and administrative cost of the water being supplied to
them – once the water district becomes available.
The newly-completed one unit-six classroom school building can
accommodate the senior high school students of the Panglima Estino National
Highschool, says Gov. Hataman.
The turnover celebration last Thursday also coincided with the
37th founding anniversary of Panglima Estino town.
The inauguration and turnover was assisted by Engineer Don
Mustapha Loon, Department of Public Works and Highways-ARMM (DPWH-ARMM)
secretary; Sulu second district Rep. Abdulmunir Arbison; and, Eng’r. Az-Zamier
Arbison of Sulu second district engineering office.
