Hontiveros slams Malacañang diversionary tactic over oust-Duterte plot: 'Dinaig pa si Keanu Reeves sa dami ng matrix!'

Opposition senator Risa Hontiveros has urged the people not to be distracted by the alleged ouster plot against President Duterte as claimed by Malacañang.

Shrugging off the ouster plot matrix shown by the Palace, Hontiveros encouraged the public to stay vigilant about the issues, including the maritime dispute concerning the West Philippine Sea.

“Sa dinami-dami ng matrix ng palasyo, dinaig na nila si Keanu Reeves,” Hontiveros said in a tweet.

“We support independent journalists. ‘Wag tayo pa-distract. Patuloy nating bantayan ang mga pangunahing isyu ng mamamayan, kasama ang panghihimasok sa ating teritoryo ng bansang Tsina,” she added.

A matrix published by the Manila Times linked journalists to a supposed ouster plot against the President.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the “Oust Duterte” matrix came from the chief executive himself.

“The source of that is from the Office of the President. It’s from the President himself,” Panelo said during a Palace press briefing.

“I was supposed to release it today,” Panelo added, clarifying that the Palace did not release the matrix to the newspaper ahead of the media briefing.

Written by Dante Ang, the report states that media practitioners allegedly plant fake news, “manipulate public emotion, touch base with the Leftist organization, enlist the support of the police and the military, then go for the ‘kill’.”
