Amid the arguments concerning the exclusive fishing rights
in the West Philippine Sea, Magdalo party-list Rep Gary Alejano has mocked the intelligence of Senate President Tito Sotto.
Alejano made a comment after Sotto claimed that it was
difficult to identify or distinguish the country’s exclusive fishing zone.
“Talino! Hanapan natin ID ang mga isda. Pag walang ID, no
entry.,” the defeated Otso Diretso senatorial candidate said on Twitter

Earlier, Sotto argued that it was hard to
define the country’s exclusivity of marine resources when it is underwater.
“It’s very difficult to say that there is exclusivity when
it’s underwater,” Sotto said as reported by the ANC
“The fish could be coming from China and the fish from the
Philippines could be going to China,” he added
Sotto, however, clarified that: "My comment on WPS and
its resources was a tongue-in-cheek statement. Sadly, kaunti lang ang
nakaintindi (Sadly, only a few can understand)."
