Senator Francis Pangilinan allegedly topped the number of
absences in the Senate in the third regular session of the 17th Congress, says
Politiko report.
According to the article, the opposition senator only showed
up in 47 out of 61 plenary sessions from July 23, 2018 to June 4, 2019, which
is already the least number among other senators.
Next to Pangilinan is Senator Manny Pacquiao, who only
attended 49 sessions, followed by outgoing senator Bam Aquino, who was present
for 50 times and 54 for Senator Richard Gordon.
Meanwhile, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Majority
Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri,
Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon, Senators
Panfilo Lacson, Gregorio Honasan, Joel Villanueva and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel
III all got perfect attendance.
Senator Nancy Binay was present for 6 session days, while Senators
Win Gatchalian, JV Ejercito and Cynthia Villar completed 58 session days.
Opposition Senators Risa Hontiveros and Antonio Trillanes IV
reportedly showed up 57 times.
Senators Sonny Angara, Grace Poe and Loren Legarda have
completed 56 session days.
Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph G. Recto and Sen. Francis
“Chiz” Escudero, followed them with 55 sessions.
