Solicitor General
Jose Calida attended the committee hearing at the House of Representative to
break his silence regarding the ABS CBN franchise renewal.
Calida also
thrown strong words regarding the previous statement of Kapamilya actor Coco
Martin about the closure of the media giant.
He said, Coco
seems to have “tantrums” and calling for a “fight” with his rants on social
media.
“It appears
that he feels he can solve the problems the same way as he solves them on
screen, with macho bluster and bravado,” Calida said.
“If I had
not been the Solicitor General, I would have called his bluff and make him eat
his words,” he added.
The solicitor
general, said that the actor’s outburst clearly showed “lack of understanding”
of the franchise issue.
He also
insisted that granting of a franchise is not a right but a “privilege subject to
regulation.”
Calida quoted
“Pasensya
hustisya?" he said
Coco Martin
is one of the famous actors in the Philippines. He is popularly known for his
role as “Cardo Dalisay” in FPJ’s remake of Ang Probinsyano.
